CHENNAI, World's Second Oldest Corporation - Under Danger.
After a terrible flood disaster occurred on last week of November,
On last Tuesday Dec 1, Rain slightly starts at 6.00 PM, Already meteorological dept advised that huge rainfall will occur today. But i take it as easy and went on office with umbrella, While i waiting for bus, suddenly rain made a heavy showers and i struggled a lot to get a bus and reached local transit station, Most of the people were panic at the time that many lakes are in danger situations. I heared their discussions in train after i reached destination i cant get away from station. after a long struggle i reached office, there only few people were there and busy with work and surfing news regarding rain and its affects. Till 3.00 PM rain continuously falls without any slow, then we got the news that all lakes are full and anytime it will broke, the threat is most of the lakes are present in and around the metropolis and it will affect very worse. then we plan to move out from office at 5.00 PM. Outer looks like a night 9.00 PM since its noon, its too cloudy no lights all vehicles were moved slowly with lights. Water level rises in out of my office up on foot. When i reached my bus stop water level upto my knee. I got a bus which full of water pours inside with knee level. after a long struggle i reached metro station and from that i reached my home stop there the water level raise upto my abdomen . People helped me from one bus and i safely reached my home. Immediately power shutdown on entire city and dark rises. without food i slept at night.
On next day Wed Dec 2, FULL DAY RAIN
Since i got phone from office regarding leaves and water run out of office. we stayed in room with sufficient foods and see on roads to know about happenings. One by one we got terrible news that all areas were flooded max of areas flooded upto neck level and there is no power and mobile network coverage. then we collect some foods for our survival and on that day evening people started to stand on roads. I found that moments as unusual and all shops are closing one by one due to lack of foods.
All volunteers are came on roads and provides biscuit packets and waters. That time i saw who works as IT PRO's getting salary of 1,000,00 USD were waiting for helicopter to receive food packets. they became volunteers and started to help people and most of youngsters were guided for traffic and other facilities. That day gone with dark nights.
On the day Thu Dec 3,
Morning have good amount of rain, sun also shines on some times create some relief on people but no longer exists, since all the lakes in Chennai were over flown all the lakes were opened and two rivers in Chennai get flooded over 30,000 cu.ft / sec of water flows on those small rivers made a immersive damage and collapse the entire structure of Chennai, Corporation and government not inform properly and they try to control the flow of river water THEY OPENED THE RIVER ON CHENNAI STREETS.... My office get full of water and that streets didn't saw such amount of water over a 100 years. Most of the people died on getting Power shocks and again entire city shutdown. Imagine the above picture if the river water flows on these streets means think how much damage it will cause. Entire Chennai Get isolated from rest of the country and Chennai Sinks. Army called up and rescue were started on that day.
On the day Friday, Dec 4
I planned to power up my mobile and try to move office, i powered my mobile with my friend in Toll gate and i started move office in the water still water flows on the road. The worst day Chennai faces problems are NO FOOD, NO POWER, NO MOBILE NETWORK, NO DRINKING WATER, NO MONEY, NO ATM, NO MILK, NO TRANSPORTATION except MTC buses. I ran out of money and i saw the clouds remains dark and i and my friend plans to leave city. In order to get money i roamed in Chennai streets in order to find any ATMs and i got Rs 5000 and that sufficient for me.. then i start moving. While i started sky will be appears on my place as image shown below,
NO FOOD,
NO HOME,
NO CLOTHES,
NO POWER,
NO MOBILE NETWORK,
NO DRINKING WATER,
NO MONEY,
NO MEDICINE,
I came to home and i helped people as much i can. and i am suggesting my friends to help for people who suffering in Metropolis CHENNAI. Since, Chennai is the second world oldest corporation. Now its again starts from Zero, Here is share some of the image of flood affected Chennai.
