Windows 10 Mobile will begin its rollout to existing Windows Phone 8.1 devices in early 2016 Source: WB
Microsoft has today announced that Windows 10 Mobile will begin its official rollout for existing Windows Phone 8.1 handsets in early 2016, meaning we could see the first devices get an upgrade in just a few short weeks. This date has slipped from its originally planned launch however, as Microsoft originally wanted Windows 10 Mobile to begin it’s official rollout before the years end.
The Windows 10 Mobile upgrade will begin rolling out early next year to select existing Windows 8 and 8.1 phones.
I hear one of the reasons why Microsoft has decided to wait until early 2016 is due to the many problems users have been facing running the shipping build of Windows 10 Mobile on the Lumia 550/950/XL, as well as on older handsets part of the Insider preview. Microsoft has been franticly working on cumulative updates for Windows 10 Mobile ever since, releasing its latest patch earlier today.
