Microsoft announces new Windows 10 build 14332 preview SDK

In preparation for the release of Windows 10 Anniversary Update later this year to consumers, Microsoft is releasing a new update for the Windows 10 Anniversary SDK Preview.

Before some eager Windows 10 Insiders rush to their Update settings page, today’s release from Microsoft is mainly intended for developers. The new SDK preview can only be installed on machines bearing a Windows 10 Insider build of 14332 or higher and comes with a host of bug fixes and some underdeveloped changes to the API surface area.

Microsoft has also issued a warning to current developers to NOT INSTALL the preview if they happen to have or are working on applications that need to be submitted to the Windows Store anytime soon. The warning comes, perhaps, due to the following known issues:

Desktop App Converter

The Desktop App Converter Preview (Project Centennial) will fail to run on the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14332. If you are a developer utilizing the converter tool to convert your desktop app to UWP, we suggest skipping Build 14332 until we can fix this issue.

Emulator

Known issue that currently blocks our users from injecting fake location data to their UWP applications running in the emulator

Despite the many cautionary tips, Microsoft is still encouraging those interested in the new APIs and changes to download the SDK from the developer section in the Windows Insider program. Without a clear changelog, it is a bit difficult to highlight the significant changes in plain text for developers here.
